Do you believe in yourself?

Have you noticed that in this world of ours there seems to be this common agreement…

That you have to believe in yourself to do or be anything?

That in order to create the life you want, to move forward with your wishes, your wants, your calling or your desires, you’re first required to believe in yourself?

But what if you don’t?

If you don’t believe in yourself, then what?

Are you then doomed?

Cast out from heaven and forced to walk the earth a slave to your circumstances.
Not allowed to pursue your hearts desire?
Not allowed to excel, succeed and be crazy happy?

“I don’t believe in myself” is something I hear often in my line of work.

Thinking you have to believe in yourself in order to do or be anything is a mind fuck of the ego.

Keeping you forever stuck in a cycle of endless search for a solution, purchasing one book or course after the other, repeating affirmations, listening to podcasts, e-books and what not.

Then, once you think you’ve found the remedy you can start contemplating whether or not you now believe in yourself, whether or not its the right way you believe in yourself and if your contemplating you cannot be believing in yourself can you?

What if you didn’t have to?

Believe in yourself in order to do or be anything?

What then?

What would you do?

Ohhhh boy!
(can you feel the relief mixed with excitement and perhaps fear rushing in?)

Because WHAT IF you didn’t have to believe in yourself in order to take your next step?

Right now, in this very moment you’ve opened yourself up to the slight possibility that maybe, just maybe you don’t have to believe in yourself and thus you’ve created a space for love to fill.

By your simple questioning you’ve begun the dismantling of the belief that you need to believe in yourself in order to move forward.

Who you are and what you are can not, have not and will never be affected by whether or not you believe in yourself because it is a smoke screen covering up what and who you are in truth.

That truth is eternal.

You were created as an extension of Source.
Pure, unfiltered love.
Perfect, whole and complete eternally.

Believing in yourself or not does not make that any less true. It is.

If this is you I invite you to lather yourself up with compassion and kindness. For reading this and for acknowledging its truth for you.

Next I want to, as always, give you some things to contemplate in order to let the healing take place.

First…

What is thinking you need to believe in yourself keeping you safe from?

Whether you want to acknowledge it or not, what you do comes from what you think and so by thinking you need to believe in yourself in order to move forward you are automatically holding yourself back.

No one outside of yourself is.
You are.

– and I get it, change is scary.

Especially when it requires possibly and most like throwing overboard everything you thought was needed up until now.

What I’ve learned is that believing in myself is not necessary in order for me to move forward with my dreams, desires and wishes.

What it does require however, is for you to take a first step.

What I’ve also learned is that belief through experience becomes knowledge.

It comes from the building of trust through experience.

You do not need to believe in yourself now nor will you ever. Take a first step, try it on for size and then take the next. Eventually you’ll realise that your single step has turned into a journey of a thousand miles to a home you never left. To a place where you won’t care about belief because you’ll know.

Finally…

Surround yourself with those who believe in you.

Those who will see the highest in when you cannot see it yourself. Those who believe in you whether you do or not. And I am sure that while you may struggle with believing in yourself you have no problem believing in others right? That is all it takes. We are all connected by the Source of all that is, so when you believe in One you believe in All.

We are One.

EXERCISE:

If you would like to move forward or take the next step, I invite you to make a list of all the things you would do if you didn’t have to believe in yourself.

Once you have your list, sit with it for a while. Allow the freedom and radiant joy this opens up to permeate your entire being and let that be enough.

Just allow yourself to feel it deeply and surrender your next step to Spirit.

Remember as always…

Love is The Way.

In the comments below, tell me:

What’s one area of your life where you believe you have to believe in yourself to move forward and how would your life be different if you didn’t have to?
